A period mahogany-cased regulator clock from Ireland. John Jameson is known to have been working in Dublin from 1858 till 1880.

A mid-19th Century mahogany-cased clock whose design reflects that of regulator clocks of the period. Clocks such as this example cannot be called true regulators but have been given the name of "domestic regulators"; they share certain features of those super-accurate clocks such as: Deadbeat escapement, large spoked weight pulleys and slim brass-cased weights, a glazed trunk door, and a heavy wood-rod pendulum which reduces timekeeping errors due to expansion.

This clock was possibly made for Jameson's own workshop as a reference timepiece.
